How does an ABS block work?

What is the purpose of the ABS block?

It was the Bosch company that designed an early electronic ABS system in the late 1970s. The ABS block regulates the pressure of the hydraulic fluid that travels from the pedal to the brake calipers. Thanks to a sensor, installed on the wheels, the ABS block can thus release the pressure on the locked wheels, to give back the control of the vehicle trajectory to the driver.
